In my personal opinion, I believe we are in a world where we feel like we need to continually be connected. We are seeing other individual’s fake life and getting duped over and over again that our life is not as great. For other individuals their brain is wired differently. It is not uncommon for somebody to tell me, “I do not know why I am depressed, I have everything going for me, I have a great family, great job, a great house, I do not know what is happening.”
This goes to show that depression can hit anyone and that we do not always have the answers as to why. I always feel so sad when somebody is in the throws of depression. I also get really excited because I know that there is hope and that treatment really can work. we tend to think that once we have motivation, then we can go outside or then we can go to work or then we can do our tasks we need done in the day. What I say to this is no no no! When you do not feel the motivation that is exactly when you are supposed to do the thing you do not want to do. Not only are you forcing yourself you are doing it with meaning, you are going to be changing the routine and your mindset. This is what therapy can help you with.
